What is PVD? Physical Vapour Deposition - this is a high end coating process in which a layer of 18k Gold is applied using a vacuum coating technique, creating a beautiful finish to a base metal. Stainless Steel is the most hypoallergenic base metal for jewellery.
PVD coated jewellery withstands most daily activities without sustaining corrosion and scratches, as the high quality coating resists tarnishing and continues to look great with minimal maintenance.
PVD 18k Gold plating is usually between 1-2 microns thick, making it extremely durable and long lasting, where as standard 14k or 18k gold plating is usually less than 0.5 microns.
